Madhya Pradesh Elections: Congress Takes Aim At Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Accusing Harassment
As the stage is being prepared for an upcoming electoral showdown in the state of Madhya Pradesh later this year, the primary adversaries, BJP and Congress, have escalated their verbal exchanges.
Congress MP Digvijaya Singh took a jab at MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday, stating that the BJP leader has troubled every segment of society in Datia. Singh said people in Datia are angry and if one has to see the 'Aakrosh', they should come here.
"The public anger is very high in Datia. The state Home Minister (Narottam Mishra) has harassed every section of the society. The situation is not in favour of the BJP," he said while addressing a 'Jan Aakrosh Yatra'.
In the meantime, on Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its second roster of contenders, featuring five Members of Parliament who are competing for positions in different constituencies.
Ganesh Singh is set to run for the Satna constituency, while Riti Pathak, originating from Sidhi, will also be on the ballot. Additionally, Rakesh Singh, the current representative of the Jabalpur West parliamentary constituency, has also found a place in this second list.
In addition to these candidates, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, has been selected to contest from the Dimani constituency. Pralhad Patel and Faggan Singh Kulaste have also been chosen by the BJP to strengthen the party's chances in the upcoming electoral contest.
Congress Made MP 'Bimaru' State: PM Modi
On Monday, PM Modi concluded the BJP's 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' and spoke at the 'Karyakarta Mahakumbh' in Bhopal. He launched an attack on the Congress, stating that the grand old party had turned Madhya Pradesh into a 'bimaru' state.
