Royal Challengers Bengaluru pulled off a nail-biting 12-run victory over Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, solidifying their third-place position in the IPL 2025 standings.

This was RCB’s third win in four matches, taking them to six points — level with Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans but trailing on net run rate.

Mumbai, on the other hand, slipped further into trouble with their fourth defeat in five games. Now languishing at 8th place, the pressure is piling up on skipper Hardik Pandya and a misfiring batting lineup.

Chasing a daunting 222, MI fought hard and kept hopes alive till the final over, needing 19 to win. But Krunal Pandya turned the game on its head with a dramatic triple-strike, dismissing Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, and Naman Dhir to seal the match. He finished with 4/45 — a match-winning spell.

Earlier, MI were reeling after a shaky start but were revived by a solid 89-run partnership between Tilak Varma (56) and Hardik Pandya (42). Despite their resistance, the collapse at the death dashed any hopes of a successful chase.

RCB’s hot streak continues, while Mumbai’s campaign is now in urgent need of a reboot.
