Prior to their arrival, Babar Azam emphasised their primary objective, focusing on the World Cup rather than merely aiming for a top-four finish. He remarked during a press conference, "The top four is a small goal for us. We want to come out as winners. We did not have enough time to put together a camp before the World Cup because we had been playing continuously for too long. We wanted to give the players a break so they come back refreshed and with the hunger to win. You play well when you have that hunger."

In preparation for the World Cup, Pakistan is scheduled to play a warm-up match against New Zealand on September 29 in Hyderabad, although it will be held behind closed doors. Their official campaign in the World Cup will kick off on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, where they will face the Netherlands.
