Apple Addresses iPhone 15 Pro Heating Problems, iOS 17 Bug Identified

At the Wonderlust event in September, Tim Cook , Apple's CEO, introduced the iPhone 15 Pro as the ultimate "Pro iPhone ," sparking tremendous excitement. Nevertheless, shortly after its September 22 release, the device drew significant attention due to unexpected heating problems. Initially, suspicions revolved around the phone's titanium body, but Apple has since clarified that a bug in iOS 17 is the underlying issue.

Identifying the Heating Issues

Apple, in a statement shared with CNET, has acknowledged factors that can lead to the iPhone 15 Pro running at a warmer temperature than anticipated. They have noted that the device may experience increased heat during initial setup or restoration due to "increased background activity."

Furthermore, Apple has cited a bug in iOS 17 as a contributing factor and highlighted that third-party app updates may also play a role in the device's temperature increase. To resolve this concern, Apple has made a commitment to release a software update that will fix the iOS 17 bug while ensuring that it doesn't negatively affect the performance of iPhone 15 Pro models.

“We're working with these app developers on fixes that are in the process of rolling out,” Apple told CNET.

Temporary Color Modification and Solutions

Apple had previously addressed another issue related to the iPhone 15 Pro's titanium body. They explained in a support document that the natural oils from users' skin might temporarily "change the color" of the device.

However, this alteration is reversible, and there's no need to be concerned. Apple offered a straightforward solution to restore the iPhone 15 Pro to its original appearance: "Wiping your iPhone with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth will restore the original look."

Apart from the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple also addressed concerns related to other iPhones featuring glass finishes, where occasional "material transfer" that may resemble scratches could occur. Apple reassured users that with regular use, material transfer from items in contact with the iPhone, like denim or items in pockets, can typically be removed in most instances.

As Apple prepares to release the forthcoming software update, iPhone 15 Pro users can anticipate a resolution to their heating issues, all while continuing to enjoy the exceptional features of this "Pro" device.
