Dharamshala:
A remarkable rescue operation unfolded near Masrehar village in Dharamshala, located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, where a cow, stranded and starving for more than 48 hours in the swift currents of the Manuni stream, was successfully saved after 72 hours of dedicated efforts.
The successful rescue was a result of the collaborative efforts of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the Fire Department, local community members, and the social organization Team Kranti.
The operation commenced when Dheeraj Mahajan, the president of Kranti Sanstha, received news about the trapped cow. Without delay, he and his team rushed to the scene and promptly notified the SDRF and Fire Department.
Due to the strong water flow in the stream, initial rescue attempts on Wednesday evening were halted for safety reasons. However, the team regrouped the following morning and successfully extracted the cow. After the rescue, the animal received immediate medical attention and is now recovering under care.
Community members have commended the swift coordination and teamwork displayed by the authorities and volunteers, highlighting it as a prime example of compassion and collaboration in action.
