2027 Ducati Panigale V4 unveiled; engine, chassis and electronics get upgrades
New Delhi: For decades, Ducati has built a reputation for high-performance motorcycles. The Panigale V4 remains one of the strongest examples of its engineering expertise. For the 2027 model year, the Italian manufacturer has gone on to refine the superbike’s engine, chassis and electronic rider aids to deliver an even more capable riding experience.
The latest update brings a slight surge in power, revised chassis characteristics and additional electronic features. Ducati has also widened its personalisation programme, giving buyers of the Panigale V4 S more opportunities to customise their motorcycles.
2027 Ducati Panigale V4: Everything you need to knowThe 2027 Panigale V4 retains the familiar 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale four-cylinder engine. However, Ducati has revised the air-intake arrangement, lubrication system and exhaust to minimise power losses and extract more performance from the existing powertrain.
The standard model now produces 218hp at 13,500rpm in its Euro 5-compliant configuration, representing a 2hp increase over the outgoing version. Peak torque stands at 120.6Nm at 11,000rpm, a marginal reduction from the earlier model’s 120.9Nm at 11,250rpm.
Ducati has also revised the final-drive gearing, adopting larger sprockets at both ends and changing the setup from 16/41 to 17/42. The rev limiter has been raised to 15,000rpm in second through fifth gears, helping riders spend less time shifting during a lap. As per Ducati’s testing at the Vallelunga circuit, these changes have helped the new motorcycle record a lap time 0.4 seconds quicker than the 2026 version.
2027 Ducati Panigale V4 gets surge in power as well
For riders seeking even greater performance, the optional Akrapovič Full Racing Exhaust PRO system delivers an additional 11hp and 7Nm. It also reduces the motorcycle’s weight by 6.6kg compared with the standard 191kg figure.
The Panigale V4 still has a monocoque chassis, but Ducati has altered the front frame to reduce its lateral stiffness by 12 per cent. This change is intended to improve front-end grip, particularly when the motorcycle is leaned over at aggressive angles. The revised setup is also designed to provide clearer feedback to the rider. Combined with the updated final-drive ratio, it should make the bike feel more responsive through direction changes and less demanding to handle on winding circuits.
The standard Panigale V4 features a fully adjustable Showa upside-down front fork and a fully adjustable Sachs rear monoshock. The V4 S receives a more premium suspension package, with Öhlins units at both ends and the Smart EC 3.0 electronic suspension control system. The S variant also benefits from weight-saving measures, bringing its claimed weight down to 187kg without fuel, compared with 191kg for the standard model.
Another track-focused addition is a set of adjustable clip-on handlebars exclusive to the V4 S. These can raise the handlebar position by 10mm, offering improved leverage and control while reducing the physical effort needed during rapid changes of direction.
Ducati has further developed the Panigale’s electronic package, adding two functions to its existing range of rider aids. Dynamic Engine Brake uses Ducati’s Vehicle Observation algorithm to manage engine braking more effectively, replacing the previous Engine Brake Control system. The aim is to deliver more predictable behaviour when entering corners, particularly at extreme lean angles.
Race Brake Control is another new addition, designed to optimise the rear wheel’s contribution during braking. Both systems make their debut on the Panigale V4 with the 2027 update.
The motorcycle still offers its existing electronic equipment, including multiple riding and power modes, along with a bidirectional quickshifter and other rider-assistance systems. The 2027 Panigale V4 S joins Ducati’s Factory Made programme for the first time, allowing customers to tailor the motorcycle to their preferences.
Buyers will be able to choose from 11 paint colours and two liveries: Corse and Performance. Five of the available colour choices come from Automobili Lamborghini’s Ad Personam personalisation programme, including blue, purple, light green, yellow and orange.
The customisation options extend beyond paintwork. Customers can also select accessories such as the Front Brake PRO and PRO+ packages, an STM dry clutch and adjustable footpegs. These additions give buyers more scope to configure the V4 S according to their styling preferences and intended use.
Ducati plans to introduce the 2027 Panigale V4 and V4 S at European dealerships in March, followed by their arrival in the United States in April. The company has yet to confirm launch dates for other markets, including India. In India, the 2026 Panigale V4 was priced at Rs 32.05 lakh for the standard version and Rs 39.01 lakh for the V4 S (both ex-showroom prices). It is clear they will command a slightly higher price tag than this.
