Bajaj Auto has introduced the all-new Pulsar 150 on a completely new platform, bringing significant mechanical and feature updates to the popular motorcycle. The latest generation gets a revised engine, a new single-cradle frame and a monoshock rear suspension, giving the motorcycle a substantially updated foundation.
The new Pulsar 150 is available in three variants: SD Single Seat, TD Single Seat and TD Split Seat. All three versions use the same engine and offer the same core riding modes, but their equipment levels and some hardware differ.
Prices start at Rs 1.15 lakh for the base version and go up to Rs 1.23 lakh for the range-topping model. Here is a closer look at what each variant offers.
The biggest mechanical changes are common across the range. The new Pulsar 150 is built on a single-cradle frame and gets a monoshock rear suspension setup. This gives the motorcycle a fresh mechanical package while keeping the engine output identical across all three variants.
The variants also share ride modes and a crawl mode, so buyers do not have to choose a higher trim simply to access these riding functions.
Despite being the base variant, it gets a 5-inch colour LCD instrument display with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. This means the standard version still offers useful connected features rather than being a stripped-down model.
Braking duties are handled by a 260mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake.
However, this is the only Pulsar 150 variant that does not get an Integrated Starter Generator. It also misses out on the belly pan and hazard lights available on the higher versions.
The SD Single Seat does retain the ride modes and crawl mode, making it the most affordable way to access the new Pulsar 150's updated mechanical package and riding technology.
One of its key upgrades is the switch from the LCD unit to a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. The variant also gets an Integrated Starter Generator, or ISG.
The ISG enables a stop-start system and supports silent engine restarts, adding convenience during everyday riding, particularly in traffic.
The braking setup is also upgraded. Instead of the rear drum brake used on the base model, the TD Single Seat gets a 230mm rear disc brake.
It also gains a belly pan and hazard lights, making the equipment package more comprehensive than the SD Single Seat.
