Kia Sorento Finally Arrives in India: Prices Start at ₹27.99 Lakh, Gets Diesel and Hybrid Options

After a long wait, Kia has officially introduced the new Sorento in the Indian market. The premium SUV starts at ₹27.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available with both diesel and hybrid powertrains.

The new Sorento is offered in multiple variants, with buyers getting the choice of six- and seven-seat configurations. At the top of the range, prices go up to ₹40.39 lakh, depending on the engine, variant, seating layout, and drivetrain.

Diesel variants start at ₹27.99 lakh

The Sorento's entry-level seven-seat HTE diesel variant is priced at ₹27.99 lakh. The diesel range uses Kia's Smartstream D2.2 engine paired with an 8-speed DCT automatic transmission

Depending on the variant and configuration, the seven-seat diesel range extends up to ₹38.69 lakh. Buyers who want a six-seat configuration can choose from the HTK variant onwards, with prices starting at ₹32.69 lakh.

The higher-spec versions also offer all-wheel drive for customers looking for additional traction and capability.

Hybrid powertrain also available

One of the major highlights of the new Sorento is its hybrid powertrain. Kia offers a Smartstream G1.6 T-GDI hybrid engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission

The seven-seat hybrid range starts at ₹29.49 lakh for the HTE variant and goes up to ₹40.19 lakh for the top HTX(A) Black Line AWD version.

For buyers who prefer the six-seat configuration, the hybrid range starts at ₹34.19 lakh and reaches ₹40.39 lakh for the top-spec HTX(A) Black Line AWD variant.

Choose between six and seven seats

Kia has designed the Sorento to appeal to different types of SUV buyers by offering two cabin layouts.

The seven-seat version

provides three rows and is available from the entry-level HTE variant. The six-seat version, available from the HTK trim onwards, gets individual second-row seats for a more premium and spacious cabin experience.

For the hybrid models, AWD prices start at ₹38.99 lakh for the seven-seat HTX variant. The range goes up to ₹40.19 lakh for the seven-seat HTX(A) Black Line.

ADAS and styling packs on higher trims

Kia is also offering additional equipment packages with selected variants. The HTE(O) variant gets a Convenience Pack, while variants carrying the "(A)" suffix receive an ADAS Pack along with the Black Line Styling Pack.

The Black Line versions also receive distinctive styling elements that set them apart from the standard variants.
