Mahindra Electric SUVs Get Up to ₹8 Lakh Cheaper! New BaaS Plan Cuts the Upfront Price

Newspoint

Buying an electric SUV can be expensive because the battery accounts for a significant portion of the vehicle's overall cost. Mahindra & Mahindra is now trying to make its electric SUVs more accessible by expanding its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program.

The company has extended the BaaS option across its entire Origin Series electric SUV lineup. Under the new arrangement, customers don't have to pay the full battery cost upfront. Instead, the battery is financed separately and customers pay a usage-based charge according to the number of kilometres they drive.

As a result, the initial purchase price of Mahindra's electric SUVs can come down by around ₹7 lakh to ₹8 lakh
