Mahindra to Launch New SUV Platform This Independence Day - Here's What to Expect
Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to make a major move in the SUV segment with the unveiling of its all-new SUV platform on August 15, 2025-coinciding with India's 78th Independence Day.
Named the New Flexible Architecture (NFA), this platform is designed for versatility. Whether it's petrol, diesel, hybrid, or electric, the NFA can support it all. This flexible approach allows Mahindra to quickly adapt to evolving customer demands and industry trends, from traditional engines to the growing electric vehicle (EV) wave.
Production will begin at Mahindra’s state-of-the-art plant in Chakan, Maharashtra, where the company aims to roll out 1.2 lakh (120,000) units annually. In addition, Mahindra is planning to set up a new greenfield facility by FY2028, further cementing its long-term commitment to innovation and scale.
The next-generation Bolero is likely to be the first model based on this new platform, with a launch expected in 2026. An electric Bolero EV is also in the pipeline, marking Mahindra’s steady expansion into the EV segment.
Looking ahead, Mahindra plans to introduce 16 new passenger vehicles by 2030—including 9 ICE (internal combustion engine) models and 7 EVs. With the recent launch of the XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, BE 6, and XEV.9e, 12 more models are in the works for the rest of the decade. To meet growing demand, the company also plans to increase production of the Thar Roxx and 3XO by 30,000 units by FY2026.
