MG M9, Cyberster Couture Editions launched: Prices, design changes & more
MG Motor India has announced the prices of the Cyberster Couture Edition and M9 Couture Edition at Rs 87.49 lakh and Rs 84.94 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Both limited-run models command a Rs 4.99 lakh premium over the standard versions and have been developed in collaboration with fashion designer Gaurav Gupta. Production is capped at 50 units of each model. Bookings began on July 20, with sales taking place exclusively through the MG Select retail network .
What’s special?
The two special editions stand out with a white exterior finished with bespoke graphics inspired by Gupta’s Serpent Infinity motif. The Cyberster Couture Edition gets twin Serpent Infinity badges on the bonnet, matching embroidery on the tonneau cover, orange accent graphics and gold-finished MG logos at the front and rear. The M9 Couture Edition features charcoal-coloured graphics, a Serpent Infinity badge on the front bumper and two brooch-inspired elements around the front MG emblem representing a mythical winged panther. Inside, it receives a ‘Couture Edition’ inscription on the dashboard. Apart from these cosmetic revisions, there are no changes to the design or mechanical package of either model compared to the standard Cyberster and M9.
There are no mechanical changes to either the Cyberster or the M9. The electric M9 features a front-wheel-drive layout powered by a front-mounted motor and a 90kWh lithium battery. The motor delivers 245hp and 350Nm of torque, with a claimed WLTP range of 430km.
The M9 is offered in both 7- and 8-seater configurations and gets features such as two sunroofs - a single-pane design for the front and a dual-pane unit for the rear-along with powered front and rear seats offering heating, ventilation, massage functions, and fold-out ottoman support. Additional highlights include powered rear-sliding doors and rear entertainment screens. Safety-wise, it gets multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, and an electronic parking brake. Additionally, it will feature a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision avoidance assist, and more.
The MG Cyberster is powered by a 77kWh battery pack measuring just 110mm in thickness. It comes paired with dual oil-cooled electric motors - one on each axle producing a combined 510hp of power and 725Nm torque. It gets AWD and can sprint from 0-100kph in just 3.2 seconds. MG claims a maximum range of 580km on a single charge (CLTC cycle). The EV features a front double-wishbone suspension and a rear five-link independent suspension. Stability at high speeds is enhanced by an evenly balanced 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear.
Inside, the car offers three screens, including a vertically stacked infotainment system angled towards the driver. Features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, built-in 5G, connected-car tech, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and a premium Bose audio system. It will also offer a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, regenerative braking, multiple airbags, Level-2 ADAS, and more.
