Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition arrives at Rs 19.19 lakh; new colour added
New Delhi:Volkswagen India has introduced the Virtus Anniversary Edition to celebrate the premium saloon’s four years in the Indian market. It has been based upon the Virtus GT Plus Sport trim. It will be coming in limited-volume and brings cosmetic updates, new exclusive paint option and retains the saloon’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol powertrain.
It is priced at Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom), and will be available in limited numbers across VW’s dealerships in the country. One big highlight is the exclusive Avocado Pearl exterior paint finish. The new colour is paired with a contrasting black roof and black alloy wheels. It makes the saloon sportier in appearance than the standard GT Plus Sport trim.
Apart from these cosmetic differences, the Anniversary Edition continues to come with its sporty stance and appearance.
Mechanically and feature-wise, the Anniversary Edition retains things from the GT Plus Sport. It continues to offer equipment like a 20.32cm Digital Cockpit, an electric sunroof, Laser Red ambient lighting, aluminium pedals, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror.
Volkswagen is also giving customers the option to add genuine accessories through its dealerships, including a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors and puddle lamps.
The Virtus Anniversary Edition continues to come equipped with six airbags as standard and retains its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. Volkswagen states that the sedan offers more than 40 safety features.
Powering the model is the familiar 1.5-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine, which develops 147 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Virtus was introduced in the Indian market in 2022 and has been one of the brand’s core products in the country. It is It rivals the likes of Skoda Slavia and Hyundai Verna.
