Yamaha FZ-X 2025 Edition Unveiled at ₹1.5 Lakh: Top Features & Updates
Yamaha Motor India has officially launched the 2025 FZ-X Hybrid, adding a fresh touch of innovation to its popular neo-retro commuter lineup. Priced at ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the hybrid version is positioned ₹20,000 above the standard FZ-X and ₹5,000 costlier than the FZ-S Hybrid. Bookings for the new model have commenced both online and at Yamaha dealerships across the country, with deliveries expected to begin shortly.
Visually, the 2025 FZ-X Hybrid sports a striking new look. It’s available in a single Matte Titan green colour scheme, complemented by eye-catching golden alloy wheels. While the design remains largely identical to the regular FZ-X, the updated shade and premium finish make the hybrid edition stand out on the road.
The real change, however, lies under the skin. The FZ-X Hybrid gets Yamaha’s Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) technology-already seen on the FZ-S Hybrid. This system brings two key advantages: a silent engine start and start-stop functionality. Together, they help reduce fuel consumption during frequent stops, especially useful in urban traffic.
The motorcycle continues to use the tried-and-tested 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, delivering 12.4hp and 13.3Nm of torque. It is paired with a five-speed gearbox. Yamaha has confirmed that the hybrid system doesn’t boost performance, but aims to offer better mileage and smoother urban rides. The added tech makes the bike 2kg heavier, taking its total weight to 141kg.
Tech updates include a new 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument cluster with refreshed switchgear for better control of the digital features. Despite the addition of hybrid tech, the FZ-X Hybrid retains the same frame, suspension, and braking hardware. It features telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both wheels, supported by single-channel ABS and a traction control system for added safety.
