Aadhaar PVC Card Fee Increased To ₹75: Step-by-Step Guide To Apply

According to the UIDAI , the ₹25 price hike was necessary to cover the rising costs of raw materials, high-quality printing, and the secure India Post speed post delivery service. Despite the increase, the Aadhaar PVC card remains a popular choice for citizens looking for a water-resistant, durable alternative to the traditional paper Aadhaar letter.

A Warning on Private Vendors

UIDAI has issued a strict clarification regarding the Aadhaar PVC card validity . PVC cards printed by local plastic card printers or private vendors are not valid. Only the cards ordered directly through the UIDAI portal are considered official and secure.

Currently, the Aadhaar is available in three formats: the standard Aadhaar letter, the digital e-Aadhaar, and the wallet-friendly PVC version. While the paper version is free, the plastic upgrade is now the gold standard for durability in 2026.
