SBI To Launch New YONO 2.0 By December-End With Major Digital Upgrade
The State Bank of India (SBI) is preparing to roll out YONO 2.0, a fully upgraded version of its flagship digital banking platform, with the commercial launch anticipated by the end of December 2025. SBI Chairman C.S. Setty confirmed that the new platform is in its final stages and will soon be available to users. This development marks a significant milestone in the bank’s digital transformation strategy, which is focused on improving accessibility, speed, and customer satisfaction.
YONO 2.0 has been developed on an advanced technology stack designed to provide a smooth and unified banking experience across all channels. Whether users are accessing services via mobile, internet, or physical branches, the platform will allow seamless switching and a consistent interface delivering a true omnichannel digital journey.
The updated version promises enhanced performance, simplified navigation, and improved reliability, with backend systems capable of accommodating up to 20 crore (200 million) mobile-banking customers twice the current user capacity. Strengthened cybersecurity, better personalisation, and additional digital services are also key highlights of the upcoming upgrade.
SBI already leads the digital banking ecosystem in India, with more than 93 million mobile-banking users and 100 million internet-banking customers. The launch of YONO 2.0 is expected to significantly expand digital adoption and reinforce SBI’s strong position in an increasingly competitive fintech-driven market.
With expectations running high, the bank believes that YONO 2.0 will redefine how customers interact with banking services making everyday financial tasks faster, smarter, and more secure.
