According to media reports, the unions say that their demands include implementation of five-day banking system, changes in the performance linked incentive scheme and pension related issues.

Services will be affected for four days.
If a strike occurs on September 11th, banking services in many states could be affected for about four days. September 11th is a Friday, and banks will be closed on September 12th and 13th, which fall on Saturday and Sunday. In some states, September 14th is also a holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi, so banks will remain closed for four consecutive days.
