BHIM App Launches MyUPI AI Assistant to Help Users With UPI Payments and Fraud Issues

UPI payments have made everyday transactions quick, but resolving a payment issue can sometimes be a lengthy process. Users may have to search for the right support option, submit details or contact different channels. The BHIM Payments App is now looking to simplify this experience with its new AI assistant, MyUPI.

NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) announced the feature in a press release on September 22. MyUPI was introduced by NPCI at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 and is available through the Quick Actions section of the BHIM App .

Describe your issue in plain language

One of the key features of MyUPI is its conversational approach. Instead of filling out lengthy forms or navigating multiple support channels, users can simply explain their UPI-related problem in everyday language.

The AI assistant can then help with the relevant task or provide assistance. MyUPI is available 24x7 and currently supports English, Hindi, Telugu, Bengali and Tamil. More regional languages are planned to be added in the future.

Check transactions and raise complaints

MyUPI allows users to view transactions linked to their bank accounts and UPI apps. It can also help users with specific payment-related issues.

If a user wants to report a payment problem, they can raise an eligible complaint through MyUPI. Once the complaint is submitted, a reference number is provided, allowing users to track its status.

Manage UPI AutoPay mandates

MyUPI also brings information about UPI AutoPay mandates into one place. Users can check recurring payments linked to their bank accounts and UPI apps.

For eligible mandates, users can pause, resume or cancel recurring payments. The feature can also help identify a mandate when money has been debited without requiring a UPI PIN, along with information about its intended purpose.

Check the recipient before paying

Sending money to the wrong UPI ID can be a concern, particularly when users are making quick payments. MyUPI's Pay Safe feature is designed to help users check the recipient's name before completing a payment.

Users can enter a UPI ID or upload a QR code to verify the recipient details before making the payment.

Resume eligible payments

Another feature, called Transaction Replay, allows users to resume eligible person-to-person and person-to-merchant payments.

The feature can also work with eligible transactions that were originally made through another UPI app. However, users will need to complete UPI PIN authentication again when making the repayment.

Security features for UPI users

MyUPI also includes tools aimed at helping users respond to potentially risky situations. Its Safety Switch can be used to block a linked bank account in situations such as a lost phone, suspected account compromise, unexpected debits or suspicious messages.

Users can also use MyUPI to learn about suspicious messages and common UPI fraud methods.

The feature further allows users to delink their mobile number from their UPI number if they want to remove that linkage.

With MyUPI, the BHIM Payments App is bringing payment support, transaction information, mandate management and several security-related options together through an AI-powered interface.
