Chhath-Diwali Special Trains: 13 Pairs Announced, Check Routes and Schedule
Getting a confirmed railway ticket during the Diwali and Chhath Puja season can be difficult as demand rises sharply. Trains travelling towards Bihar are especially crowded during this period, with seats often filling soon after bookings open.
To manage the additional passenger rush, the Railways has announced 13 pairs of special trains. Booking for these services started on September 19. The special trains will operate on several routes and are expected to provide additional travel options for passengers heading home for the festive season.
Passengers travelling from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and other parts of the country can benefit from these additional services.
Clone Trains for Tejas Rajdhani and Sampoorna KrantiWith several regular trains to Bihar already showing heavy waiting lists, the Railways has also planned special clone services.
Clone trains of Tejas Rajdhani and Sampoorna Kranti will operate between Delhi and Patna during the festive period. The Delhi-Patna services will run from November 1 to November 15, while Patna-Delhi services will operate from November 16 to November 25.
The Tejas Rajdhani clone will have only AC coaches. The Sampoorna Kranti clone will include both sleeper and AC coaches.
The approximate First AC fare will be between ₹5,300 and ₹5,900. Second AC tickets will cost around ₹3,300 to ₹3,800, while Third AC fares are expected to range from ₹2,300 to ₹2,700.
Around 50 Trains to Run Daily Between Delhi and BiharThe Railways plans to operate around 50 trains every day between Delhi and Bihar from October 20 to November 30. In addition, nearly 400 special trains will operate from Delhi and other major cities towards Bihar between October 1 and November 30.

Several other special services will continue through November to handle the festive-season rush.
The 02200/02199 Banda Terminus–Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi service will operate until November 28 and November 26, 2026, respectively. The 04140/04139 Dadar–Prayagraj service will run until November 29 and November 27, respectively.
The 04176/04175 Dadar–Subedarganj special will operate until November 24 and November 22, while the 01908/01907 Udhna–Agra Cantt service will continue until November 25 and November 24, 2026.
The 04106/04105 Udhna–Prayagraj service will run until November 30 and November 29, respectively.
The 04156 Udhna–Subedarganj service will operate every Tuesday and Friday from October 20 to November 27. Its counterpart, train 04155, will run on Mondays and Thursdays from October 19 to November 26.
The 04120/04119 Valsad–Subedarganj service will continue until November 29 and November 28, 2026, respectively.
