CJP Pressure Forces Shift Of Rampura Government School Students As Rajasthan Announces ₹12,500 Crore Education Transformation Plan

Jaipur: The pressure built up by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) to repair the Government Primary School Rampura (Kanwarpura) near Jaipur has ultimately worked, as the students of the school have been shifted to another premise, and the construction of a new school building to replace the existing dilapidated structure will begin on September 1st.Besides this, the state government has come up with a comprehensive three-year roadmap worth approximately ₹12,500 crore for the transformation of government schools.Following the confrontation between the CJP workers and the villagers a couple of days ago, the students who were bound to study under a tin shed near animal fodder storage have been shifted to a nearby house.₹18 lakh approved for school building In the meantime, the state government has initiated the process of constructing a new school building. Financial approval of ₹12 lakh from the DMFT was issued on August 13, 2026. Additionally, ₹6 lakh has been approved from the MLA fund. Thus, a total of ₹18 lakh has been approved for the construction of the new school building. Construction work on the new building will begin on September 1, 2026.CJP welcomes move, seeks actionReacting to the government's response, CJP Rajasthan spokesperson Rekha Sharma said that the government has fulfilled one of our demands. If the government had done this earlier, we wouldn't have needed to go there. We hope that the government will quickly address Rajasthan's 3,000 dilapidated schools and provide quality education to children.Demanding the action on the alleged attackers on CJP workers, she said, “We were assaulted during violence in Rampura village. We demand that the government arrest the accused as soon as possible and take strict action against them. If any CJP member was involved in the incident, action should be taken against them as well.”Ranka seeks action over violenceCJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka, who led the CJP workers during the village incident, while resharing the video of alleged violence, has also demanded action as his 48-hour ultimatum to the government was over on Sunday.In the meantime, the Rajasthan government has come up with a comprehensive and long-term action plan to address the long-standing infrastructure deficiencies in government schools.Rajasthan’s ₹12,500 crore school roadmapA three-year roadmap worth approximately ₹12,500 crore has been made for the transformation of government schools on the instructions of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma.Holding the previous governments responsible for years-long infrastructure deficiencies in the government schools, the incumbent government said that it has acknowledged the true scale of the problem, and compared to the previous government's five-year investment of approximately ₹2,200 crore on school infrastructure, the current government has prepared a three-year roadmap of approximately ₹12,500 crore.KCET DCET 2026: Choice Filling, Fee Payment Deadline Closes Tomorrow; Check DetailsThe roadmap is aimed at developing every government school into a safe, well-equipped, modern, inclusive, and technology-enabled learning center. Under the roadmap, approximately ₹2,487.75 crore is proposed for 3,587 new school buildings, ₹8,378.30 crore for 83,783 new classrooms, ₹1,129.45 crore for major repairs in 22,589 schools, and ₹340.40 crore for 13,616 new toilet complexes.As per the release from the state government, school development works worth ₹3,006.34 crore are approved or in various stages of tendering and implementation. Of these, works worth ₹620 crore for 518 new school buildings are approved or in the tender process, and construction has already begun on 181 buildings. Additionally, loan approval has been obtained from NABARD/Finance Department for ₹600 crore for 894 new school buildings, and proposals have been submitted. Besides this, the MLAs have been asked to spare 20 percent of their annual MLA fund of ₹5 crore per MLA on government school infrastructure.
