Emitting only water vapour, India's 2,400-kW hydrogen train is the world's most powerful; within days of launch it travels 6,00 km and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 36,444 kg

India’s first hydrogen-powered train , flagged off last month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is achieving new milestones every day. According to the latest information from Indian Railways , the hydrogen train, which is also the world’s most powerful, has clocked around 6,000 kilometers of journey already.

India’s first hydrogen train consists of 10 coaches and can accommodate 2,600 passengers. It operates between Jind and Sonipat in Haryana with a maximum operating speed of 75 kmph, although the train has been designed to reach 110 kmph.
