The 56th meeting of the GST Council in New Delhi has approved a wide set of tax rate changes across goods and services. Most of these revisions will take effect from 22 September 2025, while specific items such as cigarettes, zarda, unmanufactured tobacco and beedis will shift later, once cess liabilities are settled.
