'Is it the new model?' : Two men on bike ask Greater Noida woman, then snatch her brand-new iPhone 18 Pro

A woman in Greater Noida West lost her newly purchased iPhone 18 Pro after two motorcycle-borne men allegedly approached her while she was travelling in an e-rickshaw and first asked whether the phone was the newly launched model.

The incident took place near Ek Murti Gol Chakkar in the Bisrakh police station area when Shubhi Bhandari was on her way to work. She had taken out her phone to make an online payment for the e-rickshaw ride when the two helmet-wearing men approached her from behind.

According to Bhandari, the men initially asked her for directions. They then noticed the phone in her hand and asked whether it was the new iPhone. When she confirmed that it was, one of the men allegedly snatched the device from her hand before the two fled on their motorcycle.

Phone bought just three days earlier

Bhandari's husband, Saket Gupta, said the iPhone 18 Pro had been purchased only three days before the incident. A video of Bhandari unboxing the new phone with her husband has also surfaced on social media following the theft.

The incident has raised concerns for the family as the suspects appeared to have noticed and identified the phone before allegedly snatching it. Gupta also expressed concern about the lack of visible police presence on major roads during morning hours.

Police examine CCTV footage

The family subsequently approached the police and filed a complaint. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area and along the route in an effort to identify and trace the accused.

Bisrakh police said officers are collecting available evidence and checking footage from cameras installed around the location.The investigation is underway.

The incident comes days after the launch of the iPhone 18 series in India, with the iPhone 18 Pro starting at ₹1,64,900 for the 256GB variant.
