How to Update Name, Address or Date of Birth on PAN Card
Correcting PAN details is a simple digital process:- Visit the official NSDL or UTIITSL website
- Click on “Changes/Correction in PAN”
- Enter basic details like PAN number, name, date of birth and email ID
- A 15-digit token number will be generated
- Select the fields you want to correct and update them
- Upload supporting documents such as address proof, DOB proof and photo
- Pay the required fee and submit the form
Beware of Fake PAN and Aadhaar Cards
Using or creating fake identity documents is a serious offence. As per UIDAI rules, making a fake Aadhaar card can lead to up to 3 years of imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000. Similarly, reports suggest that a fake PAN card can attract a ₹10,000 fine and up to 6 months in jail.Since the Income Tax Department maintains PAN records, any misuse, especially in financial transactions—can invite strict legal action.
