PM Kisan 24th Installment: When Can Farmers Expect the Next ₹2,000 Payment?

PM Kisan Yojana: Farmers across the country are now waiting for the 24th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. The previous, or 23rd installment, was released on June 20, 2026, when more than ₹18,880 crore was transferred directly to the bank accounts of over 9.44 crore farmers.

There is currently no official announcement regarding the exact date of the 24th installment.

However, media reports suggest that the payment could be released in October 2026, possibly before Diwali. Nilesh Chaurasia, Deputy Director of Agriculture, has also indicated that an October release could be possible. Farmers should note that the final date will be confirmed only by the government.

Why October Is Being Considered for the 24th Installment

PM-KISAN payments are released in three four-monthly installments during the year. Since the 23rd installment was released in June, the next four-month cycle falls in October.

This timing has led to expectations that the 24th installment could be credited to eligible farmers during October. However, until the Centre announces the schedule officially, farmers should treat the October date as an expected timeline rather than a confirmed payment date.

Complete These Requirements Before the Payment

Farmers registered under PM-KISAN should check their beneficiary details before the next installment is released. e-KYC is mandatory for registered PM-KISAN beneficiaries, and the government has also made Aadhaar linking with bank accounts and other verification requirements important for receiving benefits.

Farmers should make sure their e-KYC has been completed and that their Aadhaar and bank account information is correct. New registrations may also require a Farmer ID, depending on the applicable state requirements. The government has made Farmer ID mandatory for new PM-KISAN registrations in several states.

Land Records and Eligibility Also Matter

PM-KISAN eligibility is linked to landholding and is subject to the scheme’s exclusion rules. The official PM-KISAN portal currently identifies cases such as land ownership acquired after February 1, 2019, and situations where more than one family member is receiving benefits as cases that may require verification.

Benefits in such cases can be temporarily withheld until physical verification is completed.

The scheme provides ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmer families in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The money is transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

With the official date of the 24th installment still awaited, farmers should check their PM-KISAN beneficiary status, complete e-KYC if pending, and verify their Aadhaar, bank and land-related details in advance.

These steps can help ensure that eligible beneficiaries do not face verification-related issues when the next installment is processed.
