PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana: Bihar Residents Can Get Up to ₹98,000 Benefit
The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is aimed at helping households reduce their electricity expenses by encouraging rooftop solar installations. Under the scheme, eligible consumers can receive central government financial assistance for installing solar panels at their homes.

Consumers who want to install a rooftop solar system need to apply through the official PM Surya Ghar portal. On the website, applicants have to select the option for applying for rooftop solar and then choose their state and the relevant electricity distribution company (DISCOM).
The applicant must enter details such as the consumer number, mobile number and email address. After submitting the application and following the required process, the feasibility of installing the rooftop solar system will be assessed.
Once approval is received, the consumer can get the system installed through a vendor registered with the concerned DISCOM.
Net Meter and Subsidy ProcessAfter the solar system has been installed, the consumer needs to apply for a net meter and submit the required plant details. The DISCOM will inspect the installation and meter before issuing the commissioning certificate.
After receiving the commissioning certificate, the applicant needs to submit bank account details and a cancelled cheque through the portal.
The subsidy is then transferred to the applicant’s bank account. According to the information provided, the subsidy crediting process can take around 30 to 45 days.
