Savings Account: Big Government Update for Bank Customers, Know Details
The Department of Posts has introduced an important change for Rural Postal Life Insurance ( RPLI ) customers. Savings account holders with any scheduled bank can now use their bank account to pay RPLI premiums, making it easier for policyholders to continue their insurance even after moving from rural areas to cities.
The move is aimed at making government-backed life insurance more accessible and convenient for families, especially in rural communities.
Parcel services grew 49.9%, mail services 41.9%, international business 34.3%, and citizen-centric services 85.7%. Postal Life Insurance and RPLI together recorded 20.1% growth, while Post Office Savings Bank business increased by 9.7%.
For RPLI customers, the latest banking provision could make managing premiums simpler, particularly for those who move away from their rural hometowns.
RPLI Eligibility Gets an Update
To opt for Rural Postal Life Insurance , applicants can now have a savings account with either the Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) or any scheduled bank. The scheme is available to people aged 18 to 43 years, with investment coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh.Helpful for Those Moving to Cities
The new provision is particularly useful for rural residents who relocate to urban areas. They can continue their RPLI policy and pay premiums through their existing savings account instead of facing difficulties due to a change in location.You may also like
