Rupee sinks to all-time low of 96.47/USD on oil pressure
The Indian rupee fell to a lifetime low on Tuesday, weighed by stubbornly high crude prices and softer Asian peers, with higher U.S. yields compounding the pressure.
The rupee slipped to 96.47 to the U.S. dollar, inching past its prior low of 96.3875 hit a day earlier.
The currency had been drawing modest support from dollar sales by state-run banks through the session, with traders pointing to possible central bank intervention.
