Sensex falls over 500 points as crude oil prices rise; Nifty slips below 23,700
Mumbai: The benchmark Sensex fell more than 500 points in Tuesday’s trading session, September 8, amid a rise in crude oil prices in the international market.
The BSE Sensex was down 513.09 points at 75,619.35, while the NSE Nifty declined 103.55 points to 23,675.60.
Among the stocks that gained during the session were BEL, Hindalco, HDFC Life, Apollo Hospitals, Nestle India, ITC, JSW Steel, Titan and Adani Enterprises.
On the other hand, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, UltraTech Cement, SBI Life, Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finance, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Wipro, NTPC and Trent were among the stocks trading lower.
At around 11 am, the Sensex was down 418.59 points at 75,714.22, while the Nifty had declined 109.10 points to 23,670.05.
