16-year-old killed in bike-car collision at Gogol
Margao : A 16-year-old boy died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a four-wheeler at Amrutnagar , Gogol , Margao, on Tuesday night. Fatorda police booked an offence against his father for allowing a minor to drive a two-wheeler.
The deceased has been identified as Abel Menezes of Curtorim. His father, Rui Menezes , a former sarpanch of Curtorim panchayat, has been charged with permitting his minor son to ride the two-wheeler despite him not being of legal age to drive.
The accident occurred around 10.15 pm as Abel’s motorcycle collided with the four-wheeler belonging to Raunak Raikar , 26, of Pajifond, Margao.
Abel sustained serious injuries in the collision and was rushed to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao, where doctors declared him brought dead. A post-mortem report stated that he succumbed to grievous internal injuries to the mouth, chest and abdomen.
Further investigation is under way.
