23-year-old dies after collapsing on PEMT track at Delhi Police training centre
NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old man who was appearing for the ongoing Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PEMT) at the Delhi Police Academy (DPA) in Wazirabad died after collapsing during a race on Monday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Saurabh Kumar , a resident of Anupshahr in Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, information was received at Sonia Vihar police station at 11.11 am from Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital that a man had been brought to the emergency department by a PCR van from DPA, Wazirabad.
Police said Kumar was taking part in the ongoing PEMT at the academy when he suddenly collapsed on the track during the race.
He was given initial medical assistance at the spot and was shifted to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital by PCR staff, where doctors declared him dead, police said.
The body has been sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
