25-year-old man shot dead by friends after party dispute in Ranchi
RANCHI: A 25-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by his friends following an altercation during a party in Ranchi district, police said on Saturday.
Three persons, including the prime accused, have been arrested in connection with the murder, and the weapon used in the crime has been seized, a senior police officer said.
The incident took place near the Masna area on Tuesday following a monetary dispute over the party, he said.
The deceased was identified as Rajan Tirkey , a resident of Chama village.
“We arrested three persons, including the main accused, on Friday following the recovery of the victim’s body. All three are aged between 19 and 25 years,” DSP (Headquarters-1) Amar Kumar Pandey told PTI.
Police seized a pistol, a cartridge, an empty shell, three mobile phones and a motorcycle from the accused. The three have allegedly confessed to the murder, Pandey said.
In a fit of rage, the prime accused shot Tirkey with a pistol, killing him instantly, Pandey said.
The accused then, with the help of his two friends, carried the body on a motorcycle and threw it into a river, another police officer said.
The prime accused has criminal antecedents, he added.
