In a society where trust forms the bedrock of long-term relationships, a startling case of infidelity has emerged from Amritsar, Punjab. A couple, married for 15 years, is at the centre of a viral storm after the husband allegedly caught his wife red-handed at a local hotel. This incident has reignited intense debates surrounding matrimonial disputes, the use of technology in relationships, and the legal complexities of adultery in India.

The GPS Tracker and the Red-Handed Discovery

The husband, Ravi Gulati, revealed that his suspicions had been brewing for over a year. To confirm his doubts, he took the unconventional step of installing a GPS tracker on his wife’s scooter. On the day of the incident, his wife, Himani, left their home in the afternoon and reportedly ignored over 20 phone calls.

According to Ravi, this was not an isolated event. He shared that a similar incident occurred in 2018.

“I got married to Himani on 25 April 2010. In 2018, my wife was also found with someone in a hotel. At that time, I warned her and called her parents. They came here, explained things and both my wife and her parents apologised. I also forgave her because we had small children and I felt mistakes can happen,” Ravi told media outlets.

Despite a formal apology session years ago held at a local MLA’s house, the family’s hopes for a stable future were shattered by this latest discovery. Ravi’s father, Parvez Gulati, expressed his disbelief, noting that the man found with Himani was a regular visitor to their home, trusted by the entire family under the guise of a platonic friendship.

Social Media Outcry and Legal Concerns

The incident gained massive traction after journalist and filmmaker Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj shared the video on X (formerly Twitter). She raised concerns regarding the potential for retaliatory legal action, stating:

“Now she will file false dowry, DV, 125 case on not just husband but his entire family, police will register it happily & court will give her maintenance also because she is abla naari & isolated incidence of adultery doesn’t take away her alimony right.”

As of now, the wife has reportedly expressed her desire to leave the marriage and return to her parents' home. While Ravi’s family has attempted to contact her relatives to resolve the matter, they have yet to receive a formal response.
