Anandapur: Two bikes collide head-on; injured rider dies

Anandapur: Two motorcycles collided head-on near Dasakoppa Masjid on the Anandapur-Shikaripura highway on Monday night. One of the riders, who was seriously injured in the accident, died while being taken for further treatment.

The accident occurred when the motorcycle ridden by Theerthesh (Eshwara Gowda), who was travelling from Anandapur via Gauthampura towards Hire Bilagunj village, collided with the motorcycle ridden by Mohammed Siddiq, who was entering the highway from a road beside the masjid.

Mohammed Siddiq sustained serious injuries in the collision and his condition was critical.

He was immediately taken to the Anandapur Community Health Centre, where he received first aid. He was later being shifted to a hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment when he died on the way.

Anandapur police station Sub-Inspector Praveen visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at the Anandapur police station.
