Arvind Kejriwal Promises Rs 10 Lakh Insurance for Delhi’s Auto Drivers Ahead of Elections
In a bid to bolster support ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections , AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced a Rs 10 lakh insurance scheme for the city's auto drivers.
During a visit to the Kondli constituency, where he shared a meal with the family of an auto driver, Kejriwal also promised Rs 1 lakh in financial aid for the marriage of their daughters.
The former Delhi Chief Minister further committed to providing auto drivers with a uniform allowance of Rs 2,500 twice a year. He assured them of free coaching for their children and announced plans to relaunch the ‘PoochO’ app, which helps passengers connect directly with registered auto drivers via a database.
The AAP, facing competition from the BJP and Congress, is leaving no stone unturned to secure a third consecutive term in the elections scheduled for February.
