New Delhi: Bank unions have called for a nationwide strike on September 11, demanding the implementation of several demands, including a five-day working week for bank employees and incentives.

The unions said the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) had agreed to the five-day workweek during the 2024 wage settlement. However, final approval from the government is still pending, they said.

In view of the pending demands, the unions have called for a strike on September 11. They have also announced another three-day nationwide strike on September 28, 29 and 30.

The unions are seeking the implementation of the five-day working system for bank employees along with other demands, including incentives.
