Bengal post-poll violence: Mamata Banerjee dons lawyers' coat, arrives at Calcutta high court

KOLKATA: Former West Bengal chief minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee , wearing a lawyer's court, arrived at the Calcutta high court to appear before chief justice HC Sujoy Pal, in connection with the post-poll violence PIL case on Thursday.

She is expected to raise questions on several aspects of the case proceedings.

The petition was filed by Shirshanya Bandopadhyay, the son of TMC leader-cum-advocate Kalyan Bandopadhyay.

Mamata Banerjee earned her law degree from Jogesh Chandra College of Law in 1982.

She also holds Bachelor degrees in Arts (BA), Education (B.Ed) and a Masters degree in Arts (MA).
