Body of govt school teacher with injury marks found in Nawada
Patna: A 57-year-old govt school teacher was found dead under mysterious circumstances near an irrigation canal in Madra village of Nawada district on Monday morning. Police found multiple injury marks on his body, including injuries on his head.
He had been missing since Sunday evening after leaving his home for his routine walk. Police have registered a murder case and started an investigation.
The deceased was identified as Kaushalendra Kumar Naveen , a resident of Ratoi village under Roh police station area.
According to his wife Ruby Kumari , Sunday was a school holiday and Kaushalendra had remained at home during the day. He had his meal at around 4pm and drank juice before leaving home on his motorcycle at around 5pm for his routine evening walk. He had left his mobile phone at home, she said.
The family became worried when he did not return by around 10pm. Relatives and villagers searched for him during the night but could not locate him.
The family learnt about his death on Monday morning after the milkman arrived and informed them that a body had been found near the canal. Relatives rushed to the spot and alerted the police.
Police found multiple injury marks on Kaushalendra’s body, including several on his head. The exact cause and circumstances of his death will be established after the postmortem , said police.
Family members said Kaushalendra was well regarded in the village and surrounding areas for his work as a teacher. They said they did not currently suspect anyone and were not aware of any dispute or enmity involving him.
SHO, Roh, Rahul Abhishek , said police were examining the circumstances surrounding Kaushalendra’s disappearance and death. “We are also trying to establish where he went after leaving home and whether anyone accompanied or followed him. The motive behind the killing and the identity of those responsible are yet to be established,” he said.
