During an unannounced inspection of the Moradabad District Hospital on Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak ordered immediate medical intervention and surgery for a young patient after directly hearing an appeal from his distressed mother outside the emergency unit. The surprise visit caught the hospital administration off guard as the minister bypassed formal protocols to spend over twenty minutes inside the emergency ward, reviewing patient case sheets, verifying the availability of free medicines, and speaking directly with admitted citizens to assess ground-level healthcare delivery in the Western Uttar Pradesh district.

The defining moment of the inspection occurred when Pathak noticed Ishrat Jahan, a resident of Moti Masjid in the Karula locality, sitting outside the emergency wing with her ailing son, Jamshed. Upon approaching the family to inquire about their distress, the mother informed the minister that her son was suffering from acute, unresolved abdominal complications. Taking immediate cognizance of the situation, the Deputy Chief Minister instructed Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) Dr.

Pradeep Varshney to conduct an on-the-spot clinical assessment and ensure the patient was scheduled for surgical intervention that very afternoon, warning that delays in critical patient management would not be tolerated.

Ground Verification in Emergency Wards: Direct Reviews Across Local Patient Beds

Throughout his twenty-minute inspection across the emergency department, the Health Minister engaged directly with patients and their attendants to verify whether medical staff were adhering to state directives regarding free treatment and daily prescription supplies.

Inquiring after Seema, a resident of Gulab Colony in Nagphani admitted with a severe kidney infection, Pathak checked her clinical chart and confirmed her progress. He also spoke with Ziaul Islam, a patient from neighboring Sambhal district admitted in an intoxicated state, who sat up and affirmed he was receiving timely care. In the pediatric section, the minister interacted with Farman, the father of seven-year-old Umra from Katghar who had been hospitalized for several days due to persistent fever, confirming that essential medicines were being dispensed directly from the hospital pharmacy without out-of-pocket expenses.
Moving toward the medical ward, Pathak checked on Reshma Parveen from the Lal Masjid area in Kotwali, where her husband Mohammad Yasin reported notable stabilization in her elevated blood pressure, rounding off a high-intensity review aimed at reinforcing administrative accountability across government healthcare institutions.
