Challenge for cops as BJP, AAP to hold separate marches in Rohtak tomorrow

Newspoint
Rohtak : As both the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party plan separate marches in the city on Nov 1, Rohtak is set to witness heightened political activity.

A rally of the opposition INDIA bloc is also scheduled for Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Nov 1, making the day significant for political developments in Haryana and at the national level.

The BJP will organise a march regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls under the leadership of Nitin Nabin , who is visiting Rohtak for the first time after being appointed party national chief.

The AAP, on the other hand, plans to hold a march against Haryana’s growing drug menace.

With two political parties organising marches in Rohtak on the same day, local police are likely to face difficulty managing traffic, crowds, and security arrangements. The administration will need to coordinate the routes and timings of the events to minimise disruption to public movement and prevent any potential law-and-order issues.

State BJP president Archana Gupta outlined details of the programme during a news conference here on Friday. She accused the Congress party of spreading unrest and anarchy against a democratically elected govt.

The presence of the party’s national president is expected to draw leaders and workers from across Haryana. The event will also provide the BJP an opportunity to present its position on the electoral roll revision exercise and demonstrate its organisational strength.

Meanwhile, the AAP has announced a separate march in Rohtak to highlight the issue of drug abuse in Haryana and target the Nayab Singh Saini govt over the problem.

AAP functionary Sushil Gupta , who was in Rohtak on Friday, shared details of the programme and the party’s strategy.

Addressing the media, he said that the party intended to use the march to draw attention to the drug menace and press the govt for action.

The proposed INDIA bloc rally in Delhi will add another dimension to the day’s political developments. While the BJP and the AAP seek to mobilise support in Rohtak, opposition parties are expected to use the Delhi gathering to showcase their unity.

A senior Congress functionary said that Haryana, especially districts surrounding Delhi, would mobilise over a lakh people for the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan on Nov1.
