Delhi shocker: Man shoots self dead at Jantar Mantar; probe underway
NEW DELHI: A man died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday, according to police officials.
Police officers responded to the scene after receiving information about the incident and discovered the body with a gunshot injury. The area was immediately cordoned off, according to news agency PTI.
"He is yet to be identified. Police personnel are present at the spot, and the scene has been cordoned off," a senior police officer said.
"The exact circumstances under which the man shot himself are being verified. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway," the officer added.
The body will undergo post-mortem examination after completing necessary legal formalities. Police are awaiting more details in the ongoing investigation.
