Dushyant hints at 'nexus' between Hooda and BJP
Chandigarh: Former Haryana deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala on Wednesday alleged a “behind-the-scenes nexus” between former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the BJP , claiming that pending corruption cases against Hooda had been allowed to drag on under the ruling party’s “protection”.
Speaking to reporters in Sonipat after a meeting with JJP booth-level agents, Chautala alleged that cases relating to plot allotments, the DLF land deal and alleged favours in allotment of industrial and residential plots had remained pending for years. He questioned the delay in three CBI cases before the Panchkula court and demanded expeditious proceedings.
Chautala also targeted Hooda over the March Rajya Sabha election , alleging that cross-voting and invalid votes had exposed an alleged understanding between the BJP and Hooda. The election saw five Congress MLAs cross-vote and four Congress votes declared invalid, while Congress candidate Karamvir Singh Boudh won the second seat narrowly with 28 votes against Independent Satish Nandal’s 27.
Chautala questioned how the Congress candidate could win by such a narrow margin despite the party having 37 MLAs, and said he was ready to publicly identify those allegedly aligned with the BJP. He also contrasted JJP’s earlier alliance with the BJP, saying it had been publicly acknowledged rather than being a “behind-the-scenes” arrangement.
Chautala further raised concerns over voters allegedly facing objections during electoral roll exercises, saying JJP workers would stand with eligible voters and ensure that no genuine voter was deprived of the right to vote.
