Expired curd, milk, food packed in newspapers found at Karnataka railway stations

BENGALURU: A special food safety inspection drive at railway stations across Karnataka has uncovered expired milk and curd, food items packed in newspapers, chutney stored in unsuitable plastic containers and suspected use of non-permitted colours in food products.

The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted inspections at 36 railway stations and checked 112 food establishments on Wednesday, including hotels, canteens, food stalls, pantry cars and food preparation units operating on railway premises.
