NEW DELHI: A man accused of assaulting a protester’s father during a Jantar Mantar demonstration claimed in a podcast that his political connections helped him avoid jail, prompting Delhi Police to reject allegations of interference and assert that legal action had been taken against him.
The accused, Swatantra Bhardwaj, allegedly boasted in the video that he had injured Sanjay Kumar, father of student protester Nishu Azad, and remained free because of his connections with political leaders.
