Guard and Wife Steal 2kg Gold, Rs 12 Lakhs as Family Visits Ayodhya
In a shocking incident in Bengaluru's Sunshine Layout , TC Palya, a security guard and his wife, employed as a domestic help, have absconded after committing a daring theft. The victims, a prominent builder and director of an insurance company, had left for Ayodhya with their family, only to return to a ransacked house and a significant loss.
The builder, Prasada Rao Kamineni , 46, discovered the theft when his driver, Ravi Kumar , noticed the front door ajar in the early hours of February 23. The stolen loot included more than 2kg of gold ornaments and a substantial sum of Rs 12 lakh in cash. Kamineni promptly filed a police complaint, identifying the prime suspects as a couple named Kamal and Deeksha, both in their early twenties.
Sources reveal that the accused duo, believed to be heading towards Nepal, had been associated with Kamineni for a considerable time. Kamal served as the security guard for Kamineni's multi-storey building in Sunshine Layout, where the couple resided in the basement. Meanwhile, Deeksha had been working in Kamineni's house for one-and-a-half years.
The unfortunate incident unfolded while Kamineni and his family were away on a pilgrimage to Ayodhya. Two days into their trip, the driver informed Kamineni of the suspicious state of the house. Investigating the matter, Kamineni discovered that the Nepali couple, Kamal and Deeksha, had thrown a party for the driver on February 22. Taking advantage of his inebriation, they managed to pilfer the keys to the main metal door.
“The couple had brought seven to eight persons to the house, images of whom have been captured on CCTV,” revealed Kamineni, expressing his shock at the betrayal. It appears that the thieves strategically executed their plan during the absence of the homeowners, leaving behind a trail of evidence and an unsettled household.
