Haryana's 250 PM SHRI schools in line for digital, green overhaul
Chandigarh: Haryana is set to modernise 250 PM SHRI schools , with the state govt planning digital and smart classrooms , upgraded laboratories and libraries, and greener campuses to enhance the learning environment.
Education minister Mahipal Dhanda , while reviewing the progress of school infrastructure with senior officials on Monday, directed the department to complete the transformation within the stipulated timelines and fix accountability for delays.
The minister said libraries in the selected schools would be equipped with improved infrastructure. The exercise will also cover expansion of basic facilities and strengthening of academic infrastructure.
Warning that laxity in development works or the academic system would not be tolerated, he directed officials to ensure close monitoring of projects.
The meeting also focused on strengthening sports facilities in govt schools and prepare a stronger pool of athletes for the 2036 Olympics . Under the plan, govt schools will receive quality sports equipment, with supplies tailored to local sporting interests and requirements.
Principal secretary, school education department, Vijay Singh Dahiya , and director, Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad, Swapnil Ravindra Patil, among other senior officials, attended the meeting.
