Hazaribag doctor couple files police case against domestic help for alleged poisoning
Hazaribag : A doctor couple registered a case with the Lohsinghna police against their domestic help, Poonam Devi , 43, alleging that she tried to poison family members by mixing datura seeds in food and drinks.
Dr Khushbu Kumari and Dr Chandan Kumar , in their FIR lodged on Sunday, alleged that several family members have been falling ill repeatedly since May. Dr Chandan required even ventilator support once. Seeds, suspected to be datura, were found in their kitchen during a search, they further claimed.
Officer in-charge of the Lohsinghna police station Nishant Kerketta said, “The seeds have been seized and sent to FSL for examination. None has been arrested or detained yet. Further action will be taken based on the FSL report and other evidence collected during the investigation.”
Further accusing Poonam of stealing gold jewellery, they said they had hired Poonam through a security agency. Poonam is reportedly a resident of Sitagarha Lalpur Chowk under the Muffasil police station limits in Hazaribag.
