HC revises circular: 'Tamil Thai Vazhthu' at beginning of I-Day fete at courts
Madurai: After the Madurai bench of Madras High Court Bar Association ( MMBA ) expressed concern over exclusion of ‘ Tamil Thai Vazhthu ’ during Independence Day celebrations , the registrar general of Madras high court issued a revised circular on Friday stating that celebrations would include playing of the state song.
The revised circular said Independence Day celebrations organized at the principal seat in Chennai, Madurai bench, Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy in Chennai, regional centre at Madurai and Coimbatore, district judiciary units and Union Territory of Puducherry will start with singing/playing of state song ‘Tamil Thai Vazhthu’, followed by national song ‘ Vande Mataram ’, hoisting of national flag and by the national anthem.
