How a road clash near Lucknow liquor shop left 70-year-old dead, grandson critical
LUCKNOW: A 70-year-old man was stabbed to death in broad daylight, while his 19-year-old grandson was seriously injured after a dispute following a motorcycle collision turned violent outside a liquor shop near Krishna Bihari Colony under Madiaon police station area on Saturday, police said.
According to reports, Madan Bihari Tiwari , a resident of Bharat Nagar, was on his way with his grandson, Sankalp Tiwari, to pay an electricity bill. Their motorcycle collided with a scrap dealer’s handcart, leading to an argument. During the altercation, the accused allegedly attacked Sankalp with a knife. Madan Bihari intervened after seeing his grandson being attacked and attempted to protect him. The accused allegedly turned on him, repeatedly stabbed him, and fled the scene.
According to police, local residents have identified the suspected attacker as 40-year-old Raj Kumar alias Malai .
“Madan Bihari sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen, while Sankalp also suffered serious injuries. Both were rushed to KGMU Trauma Centre, where Madan Bihari succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Sankalp remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment,” said ADCP (North) Naveen Kumar Singh.
The ADCP said an FIR was being registered and two teams had been formed to trace the accused, who has already been identified.
