Indore Knife-Wielding Habitual Offender Lands In Police Net

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Chandan Nagar police arrested a habitual offender, Jabir alias Kallu Khan, for allegedly threatening and harassing passersby, including women, and attempting extortion while brandishing a knife in an intoxicated state on Chadu Wala Road.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, following which police arrested the accused.

According to police, the incident occurred on the night of June 18, when Jabir Khan of Chandan Nagar created a nuisance with his associates. He allegedly intimidated passersby and attempted to extort money at knifepoint.

Residents captured the act on camera, and the footage quickly circulated on social media platforms, prompting police intervention.

Following a complaint and the viral video evidence, a police team arrested Jabir and seized the knife used in the crime. Police registered a case under relevant sections, including 119(1), 115(2), 351(3) and 296(A) of the BNS.

Police said Jabir is a habitual offender with at least four prior criminal cases involving Arms Act violations, assault and criminal intimidation.

After being taken into custody, the accused did sit-ups and publicly apologised for his behaviour.
