Kambala need not have been part of Dasara: Pramoda Devi Wadiyar

Mysuru: Kambala, the popular traditional sport of the coastal region, need not be organised as part of the Dasara celebrations, royal family member Pramoda Devi Wadiyar said, describing it as her personal opinion.

“Kambala has its own tradition in the coastal region. In my opinion, it is not appropriate to include it in Dasara,” she said.

She said Kambala would receive greater importance if it were organised separately. If it becomes part of Dasara, the sport may receive less individual attention, she added.
